12 Amsterdam-based SaaS startups that raised €10M & more in 2021 and are hiring right now


Experts believe that software companies in the Netherlands have become profitable now, largely due to strong growth in recurring revenue and implementation of SaaS models.

According to the Quarterly Startup Report, Dutch startups and scale-ups have raised €1.5B in venture capital in Q3 2021, bringing the total for the first three quarters to €4.5B. This year, many Amsterdam-based SaaS startups raised fundings and a few of them have raised more than €10M.

Let’s take a look at some of the SaaS companies that have raised €10M or more and are hiring right now. 

Mambu

Mambu

Founder/s: Eugene Danilkis, Frederik Pfisterer and Sofia Nunes

Fundraised in 2021: €345M

Amsterdam-based Mambu helps financial institutions of all sizes to design, launch, service, and scale their banking and lending portfolios. The company has around 200 customers globally, including N26, OakNorth, Tandem, ABN AMRO, Bank Islam, BancoEstado, League Data, and Orange Bank. Every month, the company claims to add 3.5M new end-user accounts to its platform, with a total of 50M to date.

Silverflow

Silverflow

Founder/s: Robert Kraal, Anne Willem de Vries

Fundraised in 2021: €35M

Silverflow is an Amsterdam-based cloud payment processing startup that offers Payment Service Providers (PSPs) a new card acquiring process.

With Silverflow’s platform, PSPs can directly access card networks, instantly add new functionality, have real-time insight into transaction fees, and get smart data directly from the networks.

Funding raised in 2021: €29.82M

Recharge.com provides fast, safe, and simple top-ups for consumers via its partnerships with brands such as Apple iTunes, Spotify, and Netflix, among others. 

The Amsterdam-based platform serves over 3 million customers with sales of over $500M growing at 50 per cent year-on-year. 

In September, the company raised €29.82M in its Series B round of funding led by new investor SmartFin. The company is looking for talents across departments in Amsterdam and Lisbon. Click here to apply.

Ohpen

Funding raised in 2021: €30M

Ohpen aims to free banks from their legacy systems and processes. The company claims its cloud-based core banking engine is completely reliable, adaptable, and compliant. 

The Amsterdam-based company offers power savings, investment, mortgage, loan, and pension products for clients including Aegon, Knab, Robeco, Nationale-Nederlanden, BCM Global, CMIS, Volksbank, and LeasePlan Bank.

Castor

Castor

Funding raised in 2021: €40M

Castor offers a cloud-based clinical data platform that simplifies and streamlines clinical trials processes. 

The Amsterdam-based company offers a self-service clinical research platform enabling the researcher to design studies and integrate data from any source in real-time. 

Interested patients can enroll themselves in trials and share their data online or via a mobile app. 

In July, the Dutch startup raised $45M (approx €40M) funding in its Series B round of funding and is planning to expand its operations, particularly in the US and APAC regions. The company is looking to add more talents. You can apply here.

Wonderflow

Wonderflow

Funding raised in 2021:€16.7M

Amsterdam-based Wonderflow is a B2B tech company that delivers AI-based software designed to improve the customer experience. The Dutch startup helps companies understand what consumers think about their products and services through AI. It analyses the unstructured feedback, from multiple sources, and helps brands improve the overall customer experience.

Wonderflow raised $20M (approx €16.7M) funding in a Series B round led by Toronto-based Klass Capital.

Mollie

Funding raised in 2021: €672M

The Amsterdam company is on a mission to make online payment simple for merchants by taking away the complexity. Mollie offers an easy-to-implement process for integrating payments into a site or app.

In June, the Dutch company secured $800M (approx €672M) in a Series C funding round led by Blackstone Growth (BXG). 

Mollie is looking for people in various job positions, including Business IT, Engineering, and more in Amsterdam, Lisbon, Germany, and Paris. Check the open positions here.

StuDocu

Funding raised in 2021: €41.1M

StuDocu is a knowledge exchange platform where students can share knowledge, college notes, and study guides. The company wants to help everyone to excel in their studies by providing the tools to students who want to study more efficiently. The Dutch startup has served more than 15M students at 2000 universities across 60 countries. 

In May, the edtech platform raised $50M (approx €41.1M) in its Series B round of funding from Paris-based VC firm Partech.

Orderchamp

Orderchamp

Fundraised in 2021: €16.6M

Orderchamp is a marketplace that brings independent retailers and brands together to provide wholesale service for local communities. The Amsterdam-based scaleup offers an assortment of more than 200,000 products from over 1,800 different European brands. 

In May, the company raised $20M (approx €16.6M) funding in a Series A round led by Prime Ventures. Orderchamp is looking for talented people to join their teams in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Ibiza for various positions. Check out the open positions here

Fundraised in 2021: €828.3M

Messagebird is a cloud platform that powers communication between businesses and their customers globally. 

The company’s Inbox.ai enables customers to communicate with businesses on any channel including, SMS, Instagram, Whatsapp, Line, Telegram, and more. 

In April, the cloud communication unicorn raised $1B (approx €828.3M) in its extended Series C round from Eurazeo, Tiger Global, Owl Rock, and other existing investors. At present, Messagebird is hiring for various positions. Click here to know more.

Fundraised in 2021: €12.3M

Founda Health is a technology company that builds infrastructure for the global healthcare sector. The company uses software to develop applications, techniques, and tools for the healthcare sector. In February, the company raised $15M (approx €12.3M) from a group of healthcare and fintech entrepreneurs. 

As of now, the Dutch startup employs around 25 people and around six roles are open across teams including engineering, product, sales, marketing, and HR. You can check the vacancies here

Quin

Fundraised in 2021: €25M

Quin is a health tech company that provides an AI digital platform offering comprehensive personalised medical insight to consumers and general practitioners, from symptoms and medical complaints to diagnosis and indication of the medical condition. 

Digital care is provided via an app that gives users access to, for example, a symptom checker and video consultations.
