At some point in your life, you will find yourself unhappy with your career in some way. This is completely normal, and is no cause for alarm in itself. However, if this is an ongoing issue, then you are going to need to give some thought to changing your career. We spend too much of our lives at work to be miserable. But, how do you know it’s time for change? Keep reading down below to see some of the signs.
You Are Unhappy
The first sign that it’s time for a new job is that you are unhappy. We all have times where we feel unhappy with our jobs, but that doesn’t mean it’s time to quit. However, when you are waking up on a daily basis and not wanting to go to work because it makes you that miserable, then the job is no longer working for you. You should think about the things that make you happy, and then work out if you can make a career out of one of them. It might not always be the easiest thing to do, but putting in the effort now is going to save you a lot of misery down the line.
Your Passion Is Elsewhere
Another thing that you should consider is where your passion lies. If you have something that you are super passionate about, but you’re not pursuing it, you need to ask yourself why this is. There must be a reason. It might be that you think you wouldn’t be able to make it in that job, but you won’t ever know unless you try. For example, if you know that your passion lies within a particular industry, you need to try to break into it however you can.
If you know that you find all things electrical and lighting interesting, why not give this a go? If you want to make sure that you have all the necessary knowledge, do the research, perhaps read a post on UVC germicidal irradiation or another area you find particularly interesting. This way, when you go to a job interview, you have all the facts if you’re asked something specific!
You Are Bored
Finally, you may just be bored. This is common and happens to most people. When you get into a certain job, you might not think that it is forever and yet you have been stuck there for years. You do not need to be stuck, you just need to find a way to move out of your current situation. Speak to a career advisor if you think that this will help as they can be extremely helpful at coming up with solutions!
We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see three of the signs that it’s time to change your career. If any of these apply to you, then you should put some serious thought into finding a new job and career for yourself, otherwise you are going to be wasting a large portion of your life. We wish you the best of luck.
