3 Steps to Choosing a Title for Your Company’s Blog

A major key for any successful business is consistently maintaining a blog on your company website. This is where you can share information about products and services, answer customers’ frequently asked questions, exemplify to potential customers how your company fares against competitors, and more.

One of the most important parts of ensuring success for your blog is selecting a good title for each post. This will not only allow customers to easily find what they are looking for on your site but will boost your company in search rankings and allow you to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to your advantage to help potential customers or clients find your business.

No matter what you are writing about, sometimes the hardest part of blogging is thinking of an effective title. Here are a few tips to help you get started.

1. Consider the Information You Want Your Blog Post to Cover

It’s important to choose a topic that is relevant to all of the information in a post so that your readers know what is in store for them when they choose to begin reading a particular post. If your post covers a variety of topics, try to choose a blanket title that covers everything.

If you are writing about one specific topic, choose a title that reflects that. For example, if you are writing a blog post for Access Jet comparing different types of jets, you might consider a title like “g700 vs global 7500” vs a general post about private jets as a whole, which you might title something like “Chartering Private Jets for Simplified Travel.”

2. Use a Popular Format

Some formats of headlines or titles for articles have higher rates of success in attracting an audience than others. Using numbers in a title is an effective way to generate clicks; an example of this could be “5 Reasons to Subscribe to Netflix” or “13 Ways to Repurpose an Old Water Bottle.” Another popular formatting option is a clickbait-style article like “Secret Tips for Growing Your Hair Fast” or “Little Known Tips for Gardening.”

3. Use Keywords

When writing your blog posts, it is important to think about your target audience and the information they will want to get from your site. It is important to do this when thinking about your blog title, as well. Do research to learn what keywords your audience is searching for in relation to your company, and work them into the titles of your blog posts.
