Amsterdam’s startup ecosystem has been growing steadily over the last decade. The influx of new entrepreneurs, tech companies, and investors makes the capital city of the Netherlands a hotbed for startups.
The amount of money pouring into the startup ecosystem in Amsterdam has been growing at a significant rate over the last decade. And this trend seems to be continuing in line with government plans to support startups in the Netherlands.

According to a report by Dealroom, Amsterdam-based startups have raised €698M so far in H1 2022. While this is a 75 per cent decrease year on year, the first half of 2022 is already the second-highest H1 for Amsterdam VC Investment, adds the report.
Amsterdam ranks 3rd for new funds raised in 2022 so far, second only to London and Berlin.
In another report by Startup Genome, Amsterdam Delta has emerged as the major startup ecosystem in the European Union. The 2022 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) shows that the Netherlands is now home to some of Europe’s biggest tech companies and startups.

WE.VESTR

WE.VESTR also enables companies to implement new compensation schemes without involving a notary. A couple of days back, the company raised €2.2M in a fresh round of funding.
Hadrian

Amsterdam-based cybersecurity startup Hadrian offers automated security insights through its AI-driven testing SaaS platform. The company enables detailed attack surface management and risk prioritisation.
Hadrian claims to continuously scan and analyse businesses’ IT infrastructures using cloud-native technologies and ML modules to deliver quick, accurate, and comprehensive insights. The Dutch company raised €10.5M in a Seed round of funding led by HV Capital.

Fashion Potluck is a platform for content sharing between women with a marketplace. The Amsterdam company raised $500,000 from Fair Capital Partners and Goeie Grutten Impact Fonds.
Factris

Factris is on a mission to provide quick, low-cost working capital to European SMEs through financial technology with personalised guidance. The company helps SMEs by turning their invoices into cash in just 24 hours.
The company has developed the FAB (Finance Automation for Business) platform, which automates tasks for employees to focus on personalised customer care.
The FAB platform lets clients upload their invoices, request credit limits, monitor payments, and receive same-day capital for invoices that are factored in.

NoWatch

NOWATCH is a healthtech company with a mission to provide the tools to navigate the world of tech. The company offers a wearable device to measure and predict stress by inferring cortisol levels through EDA sensors developed in partnership with Philips.
It is a screenless watch with a customisable gemstone face that measures a variety of health metrics such as temperature, heart rate, movement, and sleep.
It is also a predictive technology, learning about its wearer and alerting them to potential stress triggers and problems 60 minutes before they occur. The goal is to restore balance for whole mental and physical well-being.
A few days back, the company raised €8.33M in a Series A round of funding led by angel investor Chris Hall. Currently, the company has four vacant positions. Check them out here.
