Over the past few years, Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, has been rising fast in terms of the overall value of its startup ecosystem. The city, known for its artistic heritage and elaborate canal system, is also a tech hub buzzing with innovative startups and young tech companies.
With numerous exciting events, job opportunities, and renowned academies, Amsterdam packs an increasingly big punch as a startup ecosystem.

A report from DSA (Dutch Startup Association) reveals that around €5.3B was invested in 2021 in Dutch startups, around three times compared to the €1.7B in 2020 and is double of what was invested in 2019.
The number of deals has also increased, from almost 300 reached in 2020 to more than 400 in 2021. This growth trend is likely to continue in 2022 as there appears to be a lot of interest in Dutch startups and scaleups, particularly from foreign investors, says the report.

Fairnance is based on the concept of disintermediation in home financing. The Amsterdam company is building an alternative home-financing solution that will serve the Dutch people excluded from homeownership for non-financial reasons. Earlier this month, the startup raised an undisclosed amount in a Seed round from UK-based equity investment platform, Maydan Capital.
Pyramid Analytics

Amsterdam-based Pyramid Analytics is a decision intelligence platform provider that offers insights to make faster, more intelligent decisions.
It provides direct access to any data, enables automated governed self-service for users, and serves any analytics needed in a no-code environment. The platform combines data preparation, business analytics, and data science in a single environment with AI guidance, reducing cost and complexity.
A few weeks back, the Dutch company raised around €113.58M in its Series E round of funding led by H.I.G. Growth Partners.

Gain.pro is a fintech firm that aims to provide investors with accurate and critical insights into private companies and their markets. The company’s SaaS platform uses automation to remove tedious tasks required to collate and analyse data from various sources.
At present, the Amsterdam company serves a wide range of blue-chip customers, including private equity investors such as CVC, Cinven, and Bain Capital, M&A Advisors Lazard, Rothschild, and Perella Weinberg, consultancy firms McKinsey, Bain, and BCG, and law firms.

AG5 has developed a skills management software for medium and large-sized organisations.
The company’s software helps organisations map employees and their skills for efficient scheduling, timely training, and compliance management.
The platform uses several dashboards to present relevant skills deficits and training programme overviews. Currently, AG5’s platform is available in 15 languages and offers technical integration with SAP (as a certified partner), Moodle, and other training management systems such as Cornerstone.

A couple of weeks back, the company raised €1.2M from Peak, a European venture capital fund based in Amsterdam, Berlin, and Stockholm.

A few days back, the Amsterdam startup raised €2M in a pre-Seed round led by early-stage investor Rockstart and PINC, Paulig’s venture arm.
GetEase

GetEase is a dedicated platform for lifestyle services, including massage, manicure, yoga, personal training, and more.
The company’s plug-and-play solution helps lifestyle service providers to expand into the digital space, and find new clients with the backend of their core business.
The Amsterdam company offers service providers everything from insurance, accounting support, brand partnerships, and finding the right equipment, to certifications.
A few days back, the company raised €700K in its pre-Seed round from Graduate Entrepreneur, a fund backed by Erasmus and Delft Alumni, and APX, an early-stage VC backed by Axel Springer and Porsche.
