Berlin-based SaaS beauty platform Glambook bags €2.4M, to pilot beauty co-working spaces

Berlin-based Glambook, an all-in-one platform for independent beauty professionals and their clients, announced on Thursday that it has secured $2.5M (approximately €2.4M) in a Seed round of investment. The round values the company at $12M (approximately €11.7M).

The investment came from venture capital angels. Glambook says the funds will help it to expand its user base, improve AI-enabled matching technology, and establish beauty co-working spaces.

The company says the pilot beauty co-working spaces will open in London, enabling independent professionals to reduce the cost of renting a workplace.

Around $100K will go towards Ukrainian beauty professionals who were forced to leave their country due to conflict with Russia. The company says the refugees can use the platform free of charge.

“Professionals from Ukraine are some of the best in beauty services. We want to support them in finding new jobs in the beauty industry in the EU and UK, so they can work for themselves and increase their income by providing services they are good at,” says Anastasia Tomchenko, co-founder of Glambook

Glambook: What you need to know

Founded in 2020, the Berlin company brings together over 20,000 freelance professionals from London, Berlin, Paris, Milan, and 50 other major European cities.

Glambook allows beauty professionals to work in a flexible environment, i.e., where and how to provide their services.

The platform is powered by AI and matches clients with beauty professionals based on their visual references.

The German company aims to support freelancers and promote people who want to work for themselves at the lowest possible overhead.

“A new generation of consumers view beauty brands as entities they can access through a variety of points of intersection, including physical and digital. They expect the same quality of service in-store, on the website, and on social media, so Glambook becomes a bridge between beauty makers and customers,” says Alex Tomchenko, CEO of Glambook.

Currently, the platform has over 100,000 bookings and is growing 2x month-over-month, claims the company.

Glambook distributes its CRM solution only to beauty professionals without attracting clients and does not follow the traditional marketplace model.
