I watched the film Field of Dreams again recently and some of the quotes just came to life for me and made me reflect on where I am in my own life.
All his life, Ray Kinsella (main character in the film) was searching for his dreams. Then one day, his dreams came looking for him.” For those that haven’t seen the movie if you are searching for inspiration on what can happen when you believe this is a truly inspirational movie! I won’t say more or it will give the game away but I’ve included some of the lines which made me stop and think.
Around 2 years ago I was working in a safe corporate job where I had worked for some 20 years and then I was made redundant. Looking back this was the catalyst to a new life and future but at the time seemed the worst thing in the world!
You know when you spend time dreaming what your future would look like if you weren’t tied down with a 9-5 job? Well suddenly this was my reality – I may have dreamed of not working, being independent, having no-one to answer to but that was my world and now it has shifted on it’s axis!! But I am happy to say there is life after redundancy!
For some it may be a shift in career, an opportunity to reflect on what it is you want in life, for others it may just be a chance to get a bit of money under your belt and move into another job working for another boss!
If you have just been made redundant take the time to reflect on what it is you want from life and your future – don’t jump at the first opportunity and make sure you use the opportunity wisely both in terms of money and time. Create your own Field of Dreams whatever that may be.

Sometimes your future calls you and we are not in tune enough with our thoughts or just too busy to notice. Don’t miss your opportunities and live the life you deserve.
