Helsinki-based sales intelligence platform Vainu secures €4M to help salespeople make better decisions


Vainu, a sales intelligence platform that helps salespeople and marketers move forward through real-time company data, announced that it has secured €4M in funding from Round2 Capital through revenue-based financing and, selectively, with equity solutions. 

The funding will enable Vainu to accelerate its business and double its annual average customer value (ACV) while systematically moving away from a small standalone customer segment.

Mikko Honkanen, Vainu’s co-founder, says, “During the past three years, we have spent a lot of time and effort in building capabilities that mid-sized, large and enterprise customers need. At the end of the day, it comes down to data coverage and quality, and our ability to deliver proprietary information in a modern way. Sometimes it’s our native CRM connectors, sometimes our online platform and sometimes it’s the set of APIs they need. A good example of our enterprise capabilities is our new Vainu developer portal that we’re releasing today.” 

How Vainu was born?

In 2013, three childhood friends  Mikko Honkanen, Pietari Suvanto and Tuomas Rasila from Tuusula, Finland saw an opportunity in B2B sales when they tried to answer a couple of questions: 

  • What if there was a tool to help B2B salespeople who have the right sales instinct? 
  • What if they had the data when and where they needed it to deliver a personalised sales experience every time?

The company is on a mission to make salespeople better at their jobs by providing them with high-quality data when and where they need it to be successful.

How are they doing it?

Founded in 2014, Vainu is building a company data platform that collects and analyses a huge amount of structured and unstructured online information and makes insights easily accessible. As a result, the Finnish company helps B2B companies achieve personalisation at scale in sales and marketing.

Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, the company is now serving more than 10,000 sales, marketing and data professionals. The company is now at €12M in annual revenue with a team of 150, spread across Europe.

Investors 

Based out of Vienna, Round2 Capital is the European revenue-based finance provider that focuses on European companies with digital and sustainable business models

The investment fund, based in Vienna, Berlin, and Stockholm, has been working with Vainu since 2019 and provided both revenue-based financing and equity in the current round. 

The company is active in several European countries focusing on Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the Nordics. To date, Round2 Capital has invested in 23 companies.
