Dramatics, expression, music, conversation and celebration – an amalgamation of all is ‘Histrionica, 2021’. The Dramatics Society, Shri Ram College of Commerce is living proof of the undeterred spirit of DU. Conducting the 18th edition of its Annual Performing Arts festival ‘Histrionica’ purely online, amid this chaos, is no small feat.
With double enthusiasm, Histrionica has a plethora of events organised for students and colleges all across the country. In 2 days, i.e. 24th and 25th April, the festival is going to be jam-packed with informative sessions, enthralling performances and oodles of smiles. Upholding the essence of theatre, even in the middle of a pandemic, The Dramatics Society, SRCC has introduced ‘Numaish’, the performing arts event, starring the digital productions of colleges and individuals across India. Audio plays, nukkad nataks, stage plays, short films – it’s a complete package.
The next event is ‘The Stage’ wherein they shall host multiple eminent personalities from theatre, silver screen and Bollywood. This year, the audience will get to interact with celebrities like Abhay Deol, Priyanshu Painyuli, Avijit Dutt, Shernaz Patel and Suchitra Pillai. Keep your eyes peeled for a ‘Content Creators’ Panel, starring India’s leading content creators, including Shwetabh Gangwar, Paritosh Anand and others. The highlight of Histrionica’21 – The cast of TVF Aspirants including Naveen Kasturia, Sunny Hinduja, Abhilash Thapliyal and Namita Dubey will grace the festival with an enriching and fun discussion about UPSC aspirants and their journey.
Carrying forward the legacy of free expression, Histrionica will be hosting ‘The Grand Open Mic’. A safe space for performers and audience alike, it’s going to be a platform to share their love for art and expression, whether you sing, dance or make us laugh.
Coming to laughter, this year, Harsh Gujral is set to make everyone squeal and roll on the floor with his quirky jokes and exciting stories to share. Come one, come all, presenting to you ‘Just for Laughs’.
With his beautiful voice and soothing renditions, Taba Chake will be performing at ‘Live Wire’. With songs like Shayad and Walk with Me, it’ll be an evening to remember, straight from your homes.
