IIT Madras partners with Ansys for new educational courses
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) is partnering with Ansys, an engineering simulation software company, to support new courses in emerging areas and build industry-relevant skills for NPTEL learners.
The programme would be implemented through National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), a joint initiative of the IITs and IISc, Bengaluru. It will focus on emerging technologies such as electrification, 5G, autonomous vehicles, drones, and healthcare, among others.
Ansys will also make available its speakers for the Tech Talk lecture series conducted by NPTEL, and will be able to leverage Ansys simulation for the same. It will additionally support NPTEL in a hands-on workshop on fundamental engineering simulations.
Ansys’ CSR funding will enable a certification fee waiver to hundreds of students from underprivileged backgrounds and particularly women candidates. This can increase the employability of students undertaking these certifications. With the fee waiver support given by Ansys, the cost of certification for qualified students will be reduced by 50%.
Tech Mahindra expands partnership with Telefonica Germany
Technology services company Tech Mahindra has implemented netOps.ai, its network automation technology platform, for Telefonica Germany. Additionally, Tech Mahindra is also helping Telefonica accelerate its journey to Autonomous Networks by modernising its Operations Support Systems (OSS) stack.
As a first step, Telefónica Germany and Tech Mahindra have implemented netOps.ai platform, which automates e2e Network Lifecycle. The “Continuous Insights & Intelligence (CI2F)” model of netOps.ai has helped automate NOC Operations thereby ensuring significant improvement in operational KPIs such as T2D (Time to Dispatch), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and network availability
“Together with Tech Mahindra, our desired goal is to deliver outstanding, consistent customer experience, cost-effectively,” Mallik Rao, Chief Technology and Information Officer of Telefónica Germany, said. “A fully automated network operations, powered by a hyper automation platform that enables zero-touch and closed-loop processes, requiring minimal human intervention, with state-of-the-art technologies, is a key step towards achieving this”.

Sonata Software acquires US company Quant Systems
Bengaluru-headquartered technology services company Sonata Software has acquired Texas-based IT services company Quant Systems Inc for $65 million.
The transaction will also see an additional payment of $95 million over the next two years based on the milestones achieved. This acquisition is expected to bring in growth and scale for Sonata Software.
The acquisition will also strengthen the capabilities of Sonata Software in the areas of data analytics, cloud modernisation, cyber security, salesforce, data privacy, digital, and mobile app solutions. It is also expected to provide a stronger foothold for the company in sectors such as banking and finance, healthcare, and retail.
