Logistics startup Locus earlier this week raised $50 million in Series C funding led by GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures and existing investors Tiger Global and Falcon Edge.

Angel investors Amrish Rau, CEO of Pine Labs; Kunal Shah, CEO of CRED; Raju Reddy, Founder of Sierra Atlantic; and Deb Deep Sengupta, former President and MD, SAP South Asia, also participated in the round. 

The startup said it will use the funding to improve its geographical reach and build its research and development team to expand the product line. Locus had earlier raised $30 million across multiple rounds.

Founded in 2015, Locus uses ML and proprietary algorithms to offer smart supply chain solutions to customers. With clients across North America, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Indian subcontinent, the startup has offices in the US, the UK, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Germany. 

Locus claims that its scalable solutions have resulted in $150 million savings in logistics costs, 70 million+ kilometre reductions in distance travelled, and 17 million+ kilograms reduction in GHG emissions for clients across sectors like ecommerce, retail, e-grocery, CPG/FMCG, home services, home deliveries, 3PL, transportation, and B2B distribution.

In this role, the product manager will help in developing and implementing product vision and strategy, meet regularly with key customer-facing teams to collect and analyse user feedback to shape new product ideas and user requirements, implement usage tracking and analyse patterns to validate new feature requirements, work with leadership team in planning product roadmap, and more.

Account Executive – MEA

Location: Bengaluru

Experience required: 3+ years

Locus is looking for an account executive to develop and grow the startup’s Middle East and Africa market. Responsibilities include territory management, full sales cycle ownership, new revenue acquisition, driving enterprise sales, engagement, and customer support in the MEA region.

Identifying new prospects and problem statements, building and managing strong relationships with clients, and helping products with continuous feedback are some of the other responsibilities in this role.

Data Scientist

Location: Bengaluru

Experience required: 2+ years

As a data scientist, the candidate will develop algorithms to make the engine faster, smarter and scalable. The data scientist will have the autonomy to choose language, techniques, and toolbox with a focus on problem-solving. For this role, Locus prefers a candidate with experience in Python and optimisation algorithms.

Full Stack Developer

Location: Bengaluru

Experience required: 3-7 years

In this role at Locus, the full stack developer will design and implement backend APIs, mentor junior developers technically, actively work to reduce tech debt, work towards more stability and scalability, as well as work on the tech stack with Java, AWS, Aurora, Angular, React JS, Redex, HTML, Wedpack, etc.

For this position, Locus prefers a candidate with experience in SQL, Dynamo DB, Postgres, and REST APIs.
