EQS series add-ons

Mercedes-Benz has also announced a customisation package for EQS customers which include several lighting animations and sound experiences inside the cabin. It’s worth mentioning that the OTA will also add several mini-games such as Tetris, Sudoku, Shuffling Pack, and Pairs.

Additionally, the automotive company will also offer two driving modes – beginner driver mode and valet driver mode, for an additional €50. There is also a ‘highlight’ mode, where the vehicle will introduce itself and highlight its equipment list. The feature will be activated by the “Hey Mercedes” voice assistant.

The customers can add in extra features post-purchase according to personal preferences. For example, the company will electronically limit the steering angle of the rear wheels to 4.5-degrees. However, users can upgrade it through OTA to 10-degree turns.

In addition to the conventional purchasing of individual functions, customers can also take out subscriptions. Temporary activations and free trial periods are also planned, says the company.

“After the purchase in the Mercedes me Store, the new OTA function is enabled in the background. A corresponding notification appears in the central display. The communication module installed in the vehicle transmits the data by radio,” says the company in the press release.

Similarly, for €1,844.50, the EQS can be fitted with the Intelligent Park Pilot with remote parking functions. This prepares the EQS for automated valet service (AVP, SAE level 4).
