Sequoia India Announces Five New MDs To Investment and Advisory Team


Ashish Agarwal and Hashjit Sethi would be joining as managing directors for India’s venture team

Ishaan Mittal, Sakshi Chopra and Tejeshwi Sharma would be taking over as managing directors for the growth investing team

Sequoia India Capital, to date, has raised a total of $195 Mn in funding

Sequoia India has announced the promotion of five new managing directors to its investment advisory team. Two of them would be joining the venture capital advisory team, while  three of them would be part of the growth equity advisory team.

Ashish Agarwal and Harshjit Sethi would now be taking over as managing directors of Sequoia India’s venture team. Ishaan Mittal, Sakshi Chopra and Tejeshwi Sharma would be taking over as the managing directors in their growth investing team.

Agarwal, Sethi, Mittal, Chopra, and Sharma bring close to 40 years of experience and have experience of working with over 50 startups collectively. With this move, Sequoia India aims to serve founders better across stages and sectors and deepen its ability to partner with a growing number of potential companies in the region. 

Sequoia Capital India has raised a total of $3 Bn across eight funds, their latest being Sequoia Capital India Seed Fund II in Mar 2021. To date, the firm has raised a total of $195 Mn.

Founded in 2000 in India, Sequoia India is a venture capital firm. The company has over 40 functional experts who offer expertise in consumer, technology, and healthcare sectors. Sequoia was also listed as the top venture capitalist firm in 2020

The firm competes with companies like Accel, Tiger Global, Matrix, Blume, Trifecta Capital and others. As of 2020, the firm had invested in 245 startups in India. 

Over the last few years, the firm has 10 dedicated funds focused on seed, venture, and growth stages.
