Swiggy on Friday launched Eatlists, a feature that allows users to curate and share their favourite foods within the Swiggy App.
Eatlists aims to help users with indecision while selecting a meal. According to Swiggy’s in-app insights, 58% of the users struggle with indecision while selecting meals and almost 68% of users rely on recommendations from their peer group while eating out or ordering food.
“Eatlists brings the best of both worlds: the ability to create and share your food identity with the world while discovering new favourite dishes through thousands of Eatlists curated by fellow food lovers and experts, both in your city and beyond,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Food Marketplace Swiggy.

The feature allows users to create curated lists of their favourite dishes, much like they create a music playlist of their favourite songs. Users have to tap on the bookmark icon against their favourite dishes and save them under different Eatlist. These lists can be shared through WhatsApp and Instagram.
They can now also access lists created by other users to get quick and trusted recommendations. The feature will also be available on the user’s food home page and their profile.
Although platforms like Zomato and even Swiggy already feature curated lists of restaurants and dishes to try, these are not user-generated and always come with a fear of being paid for, therefore not reliable.
This feature comes on the heels of another upgrade by Swiggy with the launch of its premium grocery offering, Handpicked. It is available on the bottom right corner of the Swiggy Instamart App and offers locally sourced products such as homemade paneer, freshly baked breads, and cookies from local players including Iyengar’s and Brik Oven.
Its peer Zomato had earlier announced a restaurant services hub for QSRs to scale up. These upgrades on Swiggy are amid investor scrutiny on the valuation of the foodtech giant as it prepares for an IPO.
