The content creator in front of the camera and behind the wheels

Around six years ago, Nikhil Sharma, aka Mumbiker Nikhil, began moto vlogging. And his video travelling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on his motorbike caught viewers’ attention. When asked about the journey, he humbly replied, “it was fun.”

Initially, he would travel only 50 to 100 km every day as long-distance travelling was not really a thing back then. One day, he decided to travel outside of Mumbai to cities such as Ajmer and Bengaluru.

“That’s the whole game. One fine day, I sat on the motorcycle, and I felt I could ride long distance, that’s it,” said Nikhil.

He is one of the YouTubers who popularised moto vlogging in India and influenced several budding travellers.

From documenting his bike expeditions to covering moments from his life — Nikhil Sharma’s content has diversified in many ways.

Liked for his candidness in front of the camera, Nikhil’s fan base has grown to 3.9 million subscribers on YouTube and 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

Besides creating content, Nikhil owns a clothing line called LabelMN, which started as merchandise and later transitioned into a brand.

While riding motorcycles was his love, he never wanted to make a career out of it.

When he first started making videos, vlogging was not popular in India.

“In practical [aspects], the meaning of vlogging is somebody who vlogs his journey. It might be a train journey, a bike journey, a flight journey, or a life journey,” he said.

Now recognised as a lifestyle vlogger, Nikhil has successfully developed a personal connection with his audience by doing daily vlogs and giving them a glimpse into his life. He said vlogging has always been his passion.

He had started filming himself when he was just a kid with a camera phone his father gifted him. He now interacts with his fans consistently, recording his life and amusing and informing people through his videos.

“People want to see into your life, and they want to understand how you live your life, and [hence] I converted into a lifestyle vlogger. I used to ride once or twice a year… but my passion was to film myself,” he said.
