Community management platform Threado has raised $3.1 Mn in a seed funding round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with participation from other institutional investors such as Gemba Capital, Speciale Invest, and PointOne Capital.
The round also saw participation from more than 30 angel investors, including Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, Zomato cofounder Pankaj Chaddah, Chargebee cofounders Krish Subramanian and Rajaraman Santhanam, Tracxn cofounder Abhishek Goyal, Capillary Technologies’ Aneesh Reddy, Mettl’s Tonmoy Shingal, Bain India’s former MD Sri Rajan, among others.
The startup will use the funding to strengthen its team and ramp up product development. Threado will also use the capital to grow its base in North America.
Founded in 2020 by Pramod Rao, former Zomato employee, and Abhishek Nalin, Threado offers a dynamic dashboard to businesses and creators to manage their online communities on platforms such as Slack, Discord, Discourse, Twitter and GitHub.
The startup helps community managers waft through manual workflows to understand member needs and accordingly plan their outreach.
The startup claims to have more than 1 Mn members across 200 online communities. More than 59,000 targeted messages have been sent via the platform to streamline outreach and increase traction.
Its clients include companies such as On Deck, Rocketlane, Glide Apps, Ultrahuman, Scalar Academy, FamPay, among others.
Threado, in a blog, said that it aims to add 10 Mn businesses to its fold by 2030. It currently has a headcount of 25 employees.
The startup also said that its product is now out of beta mode and available for use for its clients. Threado plans to debut on Product Hunt on August 2 this year.
The startup primarily competes with global companies such as Hivebrite, Higher Logic, Influitive, among others.
