Swiggy launches In-App UPI payment

Foodtech platform Swiggy has launched Swiggy UPI, a new in-app payment feature powered by Juspay’s HyperUPI Plugin.

Customers can complete their one-time setup process to link their bank accounts by going to the app’s payment page and selecting Swiggy UPI. Post this setup, for every transaction, they will only need to enter this UPI PIN, ensuring quicker transactions.

This integration with the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) UPI Plug-in solution streamlines the payment process, allowing users to complete transactions within the Swiggy app without redirecting to third-party UPI apps.

The new feature reduces the transaction process from five steps to just one, cutting transaction time from over 15 seconds to just 5 seconds.
