CHARGE ZONE plans to expand its current charging network to include 25 new supercharging stations, with a target of 500 stations with capacities between 360 KW and 1.2 MW, the company said on Friday.
The selected routes for expansion include highways across southern and western Indian zones, including Bengaluru-Chennai, Bengaluru-Hyderabad, Bengaluru-Pune-Mumbai, and Mumbai-Ahmedabad. In a statement, it said it will invest $360 million over the next four years for this plan.
“This rollout signifies a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainable transportation. By expanding our supercharging network, we not only meet current EV user needs but also pave the way for a cleaner, greener future,” said Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of CHARGE ZONE.

The company said it selected each route for the expansion based on its geographical location, traffic volume, land availability, and grid connectivity.
The supercharging stations will use renewable energy and are expected to encourage the increased adoption of electric buses, trucks, and personal mobility vehicles.
Over the next six months, the company plans to expand its reach by increasing the number of stations and deploying supercharges to boost the charging speed for all four-wheeler EVs.
CHARGE ZONE has partnered with government bodies and private companies, such as Audi, Hyundai, and Mercedes Benz, to ensure station reliability through remote monitoring and maintenance schedules.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Power proposed a revised set of guidelines to reduce the approval time for electricity connection for EV charging stations.
Indian EV landscape has been rapidly advancing with strong government support and changing consumer preferences.
