Emiza Acquires Shippigo To Boost Technology And Shipping Capabilities


The acquisition will help Emiza to integrate Shippigo’s technology with its platform and further streamline the entire supply chain process, right from warehousing to last-mile delivery

Supply chain and warehousing startup Emiza has acquired online shipping platform Shippigo for an undisclosed amount. 

According to Emiza, the acquisition will help Emiza to integrate Shippigo’s technology with its platform and further streamline the entire supply chain process, right from warehousing to last-mile delivery. It will further boost Emiza’s technology and shipping capabilities. 

Commenting on the same, Ajay Rao, founder and CEO of Emiza, said, “At Emiza, we have been relentlessly working towards taking our offerings to the next level by incorporating technology. We are thrilled to integrate Shippigo’s advanced, tech-smart solutions into our existing processes. This will enable us to extend the features and benefits to our clients for a seamless fulfilment journey from factory to consumer.” 

Founded in 2015 by Ajay Rao, Emiza offers warehousing and fulfilment solutions to both offline and online customers. The startup is a third-party logistics partner to more than 150 direct-to-consumer (D2C) and business-to-business (B2B) brands across India. 

The startup said it currently manages 17 warehouses across 18 cities of India and specialises in omnichannel and multichannel logistics services.

In May, Emiza reportedly raised INR 37.5 Cr in its Series B funding round from JM Financial Private Equity and Mayfield India. Prior to this, it secured $4.5 Mn from Mayfield, Nishant Rao from Freshdesk and Dileep Nath from Aaroha Pte. Ltd.

Founded by Saurabh Jaitly and Nitish Gupta, Shippigo’s shipping solution helps ecommerce companies to integrate their shopping carts or webstores, import shipping details and then process shipments to their end customers. It provides a plug-and-play solution that helps businesses to start shipping instantly across the world. 

Shippigo also offers a host of delivery monitoring and customer engagement tools that enable two-way interaction between the shipper and customers. It focuses on streamlining the shipping processes of D2C and B2B companies.

India’s logistics industry, which is poised to touch $380 Bn by 2025 at a CAGR of 12%, is buzzing with funding and acquisitions deals. 

In June, logistics marketplace Vahak secured $14 Mn from Nexus Venture Partners, Foundamental, iSeed Ventures, Leo Capital, RTP Global and Titan Capital.

During the same month, logistics startup Shiprocket acquired a 80% stake in its archrival Pickrr for $200 Mn.
