Marathi language video-streaming platform Planet Marathi OTT has raised $5 million in funding from A & MA Capital USA, a US-based private equity firm.
This transaction marks one of the largest investments in the regional Indian entertainment sector to date, the company said in a statement. It expects this initial investment to increase over the next two quarters.
The platform has also partnered with media-tech company Dcafe to further strengthen its technological capabilities.
Planet Marathi OTT, which provides an exclusive platform for Marathi industry talent and stories globally, plans to leverage the investment to strengthen its content library and technological infrastructure.
