Stockholm-based Kry, a company that provides an online telemedicine platform for patients, announced on Thursday, July 21st, that it has raised over $160M (approximately €157M+) in a fresh round of funding.
Kry works in partnership with healthcare professionals, governments and partners across Europe, to improve patients’ access to primary and specialist care through its technology and physical care centres. The platform has delivered over 200 million patient interactions so far.
In April 2021, the digital healthcare company raised $300M in a Series D round to boost its European expansion plans.
Investors in this round
The round saw participation from both new and existing investors, including Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG, part of the $242B Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan), P Capital Partners, Index Ventures, Accel, Creandum, and Project A.

Capital utilisation
Kry says it will use the proceeds to support the company’s strategy to embed digital into the backbone of healthcare systems in Europe and improve care for millions of patients.

On a mission to build better and more accessible healthcare
Founded in 2015 by Fredrik Jung Abbou, Joachim Hedenius, Johannes Schildt, and Josefin Landgard, Kry claims to transform the world of healthcare by making care accessible and convenient. Through Kry’s app, users can meet a doctor or therapist at any time or location.
The startup claims that its products and tools reduce the burden on healthcare professionals and improve population health through more efficient and sustainable healthcare services. More than 3,000 clinicians are employed by Kry, over 6,000 use its platforms and tools, and the company has delivered over 7 million patient appointments.
Kry has also created Care Connect by Kry, a free, safe and secure platform that enables any healthcare professional across the globe to see and treat their patients remotely by video.
Recently, Kry broadened its scope by adding mental health services and will soon add chronic diseases like diabetes and asthma. Additionally, it is also developing its expertise in women’s health by giving clinicians more training and creating a content portal to link patients with the right advice and guidance.
According to the company, it witnessed over 100 per cent year-on-year growth in 2020 and 2021 through its partnerships supporting patients and healthcare systems across Europe.
