What does Altura solve?
The idea of Altura was born when the founders Matthijs, Jordi and Trevi looked into the tender process and discovered how unnecessarily complex it was.
Altura says an average of €1T is wasted on the tender process every year in Europe due to the registration processes, administrative red tape, and legal bottlenecks. This makes finding the right tender difficult and the barrier to tenders high.
The company wants to make tendering more accessible and smarter. It is on a mission to stimulate business growth, build meaningful relationships, and create better matches – with added value for society.
Altura: What you need to know
Last fall, the company launched a new SaaS platform that provides all relevant information on tenders in the Benelux in one central location, enabling efficient collaboration on proposals.
“This benefits both buyers and suppliers,” says Altura founder Matthijs Huiskamp.
“Suppliers increase their chances of winning thanks to our platform while contracting parties receive the right offers more often and faster. In this way, the waste of time and money in tendering can be reduced. That waste is currently estimated at one trillion euros annually across Europe,” he adds.
Bidders can also utilise Altura’s database, which provides a wealth of practical data to increase the odds of winning. Huiskamp says that the thresholds are high for SMEs to participate in tenders.
“As a result, they miss opportunities. For companies that already regularly participate in tenders, we make the tendering process much more efficient and effective. And for the group that has so far refrained from tendering because they find it too complex, we are removing barriers by making the entire process much more accessible. Overall, we are convinced that with our platform we can easily double the number of SMEs participating in tenders while enabling a significant efficiency boost for the more experienced bidder. The new investment we are now announcing is going to help us tremendously with this,” he says.
