Globally, companies are struggling with information extraction from messy and unstructured documents. According to Gartner, around 80 per cent of data within an organisation is unstructured data, which is data from social media feeds, emails, and customer calls.
For the employees, who have the task of transforming them into insightful information, it is nothing short of a nightmare. It would take a lot of tools, time, and capable minds to convert these inputs into valuable information.

Here’s where London-based Accelex comes into play.
Powered by data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning techniques, Accelex streamlines the extraction, analysis, and reporting of critical private investment data.
Raised €4M
Recently, the UK startup raised a $5M (approx €4M) funding in a seed round co-led by Illuminate Financial and AlbionVC, with participation from Expon Capital and SixThirty Ventures. As a part of this transaction, Illuminate Financial and AlbionVC will join Accelex’s Board of Directors.
This funding will be used to accelerate the company’s global growth through further product development, client acquisition, and support.
Investors
Illuminate Financial is a specialist VC investor focused on enterprise software companies whose products serve the needs of the financial services industry.
AlbionVC, on the other hand, focuses on B2B software and healthcare at Series A. At present, the VC manages £500M (approx €580M) of venture funds, currently invested in over 50 companies.
Simplifying demanding workflow
Founded in 2020, the company now supports a sophisticated global client base of investors and asset servicers. These clients represent a combined asset base of over $300B (approx €245B), invested in more than 3,500 private markets funds across 1,100 managers.
Accelex automates processes for extraction, analysis, and sharing of critical investment performance and transaction data. The solution has been developed to simplify the demanding workflow requirements of investors.
“The growth in alternative investing – particularly private markets – continues at pace and with that growth comes the burden of complex investor workflows. Accelex is enabling investors, and their asset servicers, to digitize these processes, gaining access to better investment insights often bound up in PDF documents,” says Franck Vialaron, CEO at Accelex.
ISO/IEC 27001 certification
A couple of months back, Accelex achieved ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Last year, Canadian institutional investment manager, Alberta Investment Management Corporation, selected Accelex for private markets data management.
Headquartered in London, Accelex has offices in Paris, New York, and Toronto.
