The company says it will use the funds to onboard users, communities, and protocols to its encrypted, multi-wallet inbox.

Apart from the fundraise, the company also launched its first secure, multi-wallet email solution.

“Web3 is growing fast,” says Tim Boeckmann, CEO of Mailchain, “And we’re excited to solve the biggest problem around communication today. People can now email natively. Artists can reach their collectors. DAOs can reach their members. DApp developers can reach their users. All creators, all communities, and Web3—finally connected and communicating in context.”

What does Mailchain solve?

Although Web3 has the potential to be a big game-changer for the internet, there are still some kinks that need to be worked out, especially when it comes to communication.

As it stands now, users cannot send or receive messages from their blockchain identities. So, most communication within the Web3 community happens through instant messaging, social media, and community servers.

It can become overwhelming and confusing quickly, not to mention that it also poses a privacy risk if users are not careful about what information they share.

This is where Mailchain comes into play.

Mailchain: What you need to know

Mailchain modernises email to create a Web3 inbox for all users and a native communication platform for all blockchain projects, exchanges, and DAOs.

The platform allows users to create an end-to-end encrypted Mailchain account using any personal blockchain addresses for no charge or fees.

Teams and individuals can receive notifications about their on-chain activity and communicate with any identity on any protocol. Also, Projects, DAOs, exchanges, and protocols integrating Mailchain can directly communicate with their users, wallet-to-wallet.

Investor

Crane Venture Partners invests in Pre-Seed and Seed stage startups founded by people with deep experience in the problems they’re solving. The company focuses on software that creates a step change for real businesses, and tools and infrastructure for tomorrow’s creators, builders, and operators.

“What drew us to Mailchain was the team’s commitment to align the technology design and implementation with the ethos of Web3,” says Scott Sage, partner at Crane.

“It’s an open, secure communication platform built to prioritise the privacy and security of the user. Mailchain is more than a product or platform—it’s the root node of a new, critical layer of Web3 infrastructure,” he adds.
