Bizongo Acquihires Edtech Hexa To Further Product Innovation


The team at Hexa will aid the digital transformation journey of the B2B soonicorn, especially in the customised goods segment

B2B ecommerce and supply chain enablement startup Bizongo has acquihired a Bengaluru-based cloud platform for college placements. With the acquihire, Bizongo aims to innovate and launch new products in the made-to-order segment in the coming months.

Hexa cofounder Shubam Goyal, who was the product head, will join Bizongo as the senior product manager, while Sushmita Chavan, who was the head of business operations at Hexa will join as product intelligence specialist along with six other team members. Of the 12 people team at Hexa, 10 were extended the offer and eight have accepted it.

Ideated in 2019, and launched in 2020, Hexa is a cloud-based platform for colleges to increase their placement ratio. It provides students with a personalised learning path to prepare for the entire placement process right from screening tests to personality development. In their 10-month journey, Hexa has partnered with 25+ colleges, 10+ partner companies and onboarded over 15K students on its platform.

The acquihire is aimed at product innovation, stressing which Bizongo cofounder Ankit Tomar said, “Hexa’s team has demonstrated a unique ability to stay true to their core – build technology solutions that bring a complete transformation to hitherto manual and time-consuming processes.”

The move comes shortly after Inc42 exclusively reported Bizongo raised INR 825 Cr ($110 Mn) in its Series D funding round led by Tiger Global.

Founded in 2015 by IIT graduates Aniket Deb, Sachin Agrawal and Ankit Tomar, Bizongo is a B2B online marketplace startup offering industry packaging supplies for sectors such as ecommerce, retail, restaurant and hospitality, FMCG, industrial logistics and food and beverage.

Bizongo manufactures carry bags, material handling equipment, protective packaging, pouches & tubes, non-paper-based packaging, containers, cans, shippers, paper products, bulk packaging, cartons and more.

It boasts of 3,000 partner manufacturers nationwide, with a monthly capacity of 2 Mn tonnes, has over 135 enterprise clients, and has delivered over 860 Mn units. The startup has collaborated with popular brands such as Walmart-owned Flipkart, IPO-bound Ecom Express, Tata Cliq, Firstcry, Licious, among others.
