Paris-based Shares.io, a consumer mobile app and social-first platform for retail investors, has announced plans to launch its app in the UK in the coming months and across Europe in early 2022.
Besides this, the company has also raised $10M (approx €8.52M) in the first, pre-product Seed round of funding. The proceeds will help Shares.io to continue to scale its product development.

Currently, Shares.io App limited is not regulated to provide financial services in the UK. However, by signing up to the waitlist, users are only agreeing to be notified when the services will start.

App functionality
Shares.io combines the functionality of a consumer investment app with insights of online forums, where members can buy stocks, react to the market in real-time, start conversations with friends, and get expert advice all in one place.
Additionally, Shares.io also enables community and private chat to network, learn, track friends, and grow individual portfolios (as well as make group stock indexes with friends) from the app.
Moreover, Shares.io’s curated market intelligence feed, Spotlight, allows its members to build their financial awareness and educate themselves about investing, the biggest industry trends, and offer supportive guides on tax, regulation, and compliance.
