Nocto, a Rotterdam-based social media platform that connects consumers, hospitality venues, events, and brands, announced that it has raised €500K funding.
Nocto says the funding will enable it to optimise the platform, introduce a new feature and expand it throughout the Netherlands, including The Hague, Breda, Utrecht, Amsterdam, and other cities.

“The investors have technical backgrounds and, in addition to an investment in money, contribute by providing a software team and relevant networks,” says the company.
Nocto: What you need to know
Founded by David Franzén and Mark Brouwers in 2017, Nocto was born out of the inefficiency of nightlife. David Franzén wanted a solution to the all-time classic “what are we doing tonight?” question.
“Corona has changed the hospitality industry forever. This crisis is the perfect opportunity for Nocto to support the hospitality industry by better matching supply and demand,” says David Franzén, CEO of Nocto.
Nocto is a data-driven social media app that creates interaction between consumers and catering locations.
With the app, consumers can share photos and videos from locations and events. The content is visible to their followers and users within ten kilometres.
Consumers get a reward for posting through a digital token, the Noc. Nocs can be spent on offers and deals from catering establishments.
Further, the Dutch platform enables hospitality businesses and brands to learn about their consumers through demographic and behavioural insights, promote events, offer deals, and market their business efficiently.
“The world is becoming increasingly digital and data-driven. We discovered that hospitality companies and brands are not exploiting the full potential of data and marketing,” said Mark Brouwers, COO of Nocto.
The app is available for free on both Android and iOS
