SP Robotic Works Raises $3 Mn From Mount Judi Growth Fund, Others


Present in the K-12 STEM space, SP Robotic Works (aka SP Robotics Maker Lab) offers an intuitive, practical learning methodology powered by the startup’s AI platform called SPARKY

Series A funding round also saw additional participation from BCCL and its existing investors Indian Angel Network and multiple renowned angel investors such as Ajai Chowdhry (founder, HCL), Raman Roy (chairman and managing director, Quatrro) and Native Angels Network & Malabar Angels

With this round, SP Robotic Works stands at $4 Mn in total funding throughout Seed, Angel and Series A funding

AI-based startup SP Robotic Works raised $3 Mn in Series A funding led by Mount Judi India Growth Fund. The funds raised will be used to strengthen and amplify the company’s user base and expand the product portfolio

The edtech startup also aims to utilise this funding for talent acquisition in order to expand its current team strength to 150+ and foray into math & science. 

The funding round witnessed additional participation from BCCL and its existing investors Indian Angel Network and multiple renowned angel investors like Ajai Chowdhry (founder, HCL), Raman Roy (chairman and managing director, Quatrro) etc. Vedamoorthy Namasivayam, general partner, Mount Judi India Growth Fund, would be joining SPRW as a board member.

 With the new investment of $3 Mn in Series A funding, SP Robotic Works stands at a total of $4 Mn investment throughout Seed, Pre-Series A and Series A funding round with marquee angel networks on its cap table consisting of Indian Angel Network, The Chennai Angels, Native Angel Network & Malabar Angel Network.

SP Robotic Works, a direct to consumer (D2C) company founded by Sneha Priya and Pranavan, raised their first seed investment in 2016. The company is currently competing for market space in India with STEMROBO Technologies, Roboa Kart, Whizrobo, and a few others

SPARKY is an AI-enabled platform that enables fun practical learning using hands-on experiments in personalised, seamless and interactive pedagogy with 3D animations to engage students in the robotics, drone, and coding technologies today. 

Commenting on the investment, Sneha Priya, cofounder and CEO, SP Robotic Works, said, “As a means to scale with quality, we developed SPARKY, which teaches all our customers in a personalised manner.  The aim is to encourage children to develop a liking for the practical aspect of concepts that will boost their cognitive, problem solving and logical thinking skills. The funding will help us to take this ambition further to new heights and diversify our product portfolio and strengthen our user base.” 

In addition to its online presence in 14 countries, the company has an omnichannel presence through their STEM experience & collaboration centres, called SP Robotics Maker Lab. STEM.org, a US-based accreditation firm, has accredited each course and kit by SP Robotic Works.
